Update, 23 October: Lahore News reported on 20 October that Punjab’s cabinet approved 12–14 March 2027. Our March-date article carries the latest report and its source. The signed revised operational notification has not been independently authenticated. The September announcement below is historical context, not the current reported schedule.
On 30 September, Geo News reported that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz approved celebrations in Lahore from 29 January to 7 February 2027, with a pause on 5 February for Kashmir Day.
That covers ten calendar days and nine possible celebration days. It should not be read as independent permission to fly on every day: the applicable district notification must establish the permitted period, places and conditions.
Lahore’s older district notice also lists 12–14 March. The latest cabinet-approval report supersedes the earlier pending-approval reporting, but detailed operational permissions still need verification. The court petition’s withdrawal is covered separately and does not itself authorise celebrations.
